25/50/100 Range Closed Thursdays Due to EOD Training
The Vandenberg AFB Rod & Gun Club is a membership club and is open to all active duty, retired, reserve military and their dependents, as well as DoD civilians and Vandenberg AFB contractors. Membership is valid for one calendar year from the date of application. Cost for membership is $50 per year for military and $80 per year for DoD and non DoD government Employees.
The range offers rental shotguns for use on our trap and skeet ranges. Rental is as low as $7.50 per day plus the cost of ammunition. We also have meetng rooms for rent and a BBQ area out back for your next get together. Fees are $35 for up to four hours and $60 for up to eight hours.
Our store offers a wide variety of items for sale including ammunition, hunting accessories, reloading components and targets for sale. We also have a special order program for items not usually stocked. Stop by and see us and we will do our best to get whatever you need for the shooting event you are interested in.
The VAFB Rod & Gun Club houses three shooting ranges available for a variety of shooters. These include both 25 and 50 yard ranges for pistol, as well as a 100 yard range for rifles. Only paper targets are to be used on the ranges. Targets are available for purchase inside the store.
We have two trap & skeet ranges that are open to members during regular store hours. Cost for rounds are $3.50 each for members and $5.00 each for guests. We also run five stand and sporting clays shoots on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. The trap and skeet facility shuts down one hour prior to store closing times.
The club also houses an indoor archery and air rifle facility for use during store operating hours.

Bowling Pin Shoot
Shooting bowling pins on tables with handguns on 25 yard range. Competitors race against one another to knock standard bowling pins from a table in the shortest elapsed time. Pin shooting is often described as one of the most enjoyable shooting games and one of the easiest means of introducing a new shooter into regular competitive shooting.
Takes place every 2nd Saturday of the Month at 0830.
Shooting clays with shotguns at 5 different rotating stations. There are six to eighteen strategically placed clay target throwers (called traps). Shooters shoot in turn at various combinations of clay birds. Each station will have a menu card that lets the shooter know the sequence of clay birds he or she will be shooting at (i.e. which trap the clay bird will be coming from).
Takes place every 2nd Saturday of the Month at 0900.
Handgun & rifle shooting on rotating ranges.
Takes place every 3rd Saturday of the Month at 0900.
Shooting clays with shotguns, "golf with a shotgun". Shoot at multiple stations simulating live-quarry shooting. Simulates the unpredictability of live-quarry shooting, offering a great variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances, and target sizes.
Takes place every 4th Sunday of the Month at 0900.
The California Hunter Safety Course is a requirement by the California Department of Fish and Game, for all hunters. This 10-hour minimum hunter education course, teaches you all about the use of safety when in the wilderness and firing a weapon. Sign-ups will be scheduled at Rod & Gun Club. Spaces are limited. Sign-up sheets are available at the Base Game Warden's Office, the Base Library, the Retirement Center and the Rod and Gun Club.
